Although sampling is not usually necessary for remediation, if warranted, samples will be collected with a clear purpose and diverse sampling methodologies. Types of sampling may include air sampling, the most common form of sampling is used to assess the level of mold present inside and outside by a comparison of spore count. Surface samples measure the amount of mold spores deposited on indoor surface. Types of surfaces samples include: swab, t pe, and dust. Bulk samples are where a portion of the contaminated area is removed to determine the concentration of mold in the sample. Once collected, a laboratory conducts the analysis of the samples using microscopic methods and mycological techniques, and a report is generated.
